Collectors as well as other lovers of art are always on the lookout for emerging talent. Half the fun of collecting is scouring the scene for work that might be a good addition to ones collection before it explodes in price. One artist to consider is Carol Westwood...a very seasoned photographic artist with a diverse portfolio of outstanding works that will appeal to many tastes.
Carol has been a part of the photography scene for many years since her early days in the 60's which led her to live in Oslo, Norway, New York City and finally Los Angeles. Along the way she has amassed a prodigious portfolio of work doing photography for Film and TV Studios, Magazines and Galleries. Throughout this "workman" like odyssey Carol has always maintained the goal of sharing her own "personal wonderment one viewer at a time".
The diverse range of Carol's assignments for film and TV have given her the opportunity to build a portfolio that encompasses a broad range of subject matter. To view a good cross section of Carol's work you will be pleased to know that part of her collection is on Display at the Cella Gallery in North Hollywood from September 5th through October 3rd. For a chance to meet the artist up close and personal, there will be a reception on Friday, September 5th from 7 until 11 pm. (more info here)
For the purpose of Eco-Tips we are including a few pieces of Carol's work that focus on various expressions of the Environment. Carol is a great believer that "awareness" is the key factor needed to "transform our culture". Through her work she seeks to stimulate that awareness.
A visit to Carol's website at www.carolwestwood.com will give you a much better sampling of her extensive body of work. While browsing her images...see if you don't agree with me that Carol's keen eye and seasoned lens has the knack of freezing "God in the moment".
